Deportation/Removal Defense

The firm’s Deportation/Removal Defense division advocates for before the immigration court for clients who are facing removal or deportation from the United States, as well as clients who are currently detained in immigration detention centers. Immigrants in these situations are issued a Notice to Appear (NTA) by the government and are asked to appear before the Immigration Judge and present an application for relief. Relief applications before the court typically include, Asylum, Withholding, Convention Against Torture (CAT), Adjustment of Status (I-485), Renewal of I-751 Removal of Conditional Residence, Criminal Waivers (212(c), 212(h), and 42A), U Visa, TPS, NACARA, Cancellation of Removal (42B), Voluntary Departure, and many more. 

This areas of practice in the firm takes particular interest in the most complex matters, implementing strategies including but not limited to motions to reopen, defensive asylums, adjustment of status before immigration judge, waivers, BIA appeals, and motions to terminate. Further, the firm represents foreign nationals in requests to remove immigration holds or detainers filed by ICE with state detention centers, ICE custody determinations, bond hearings before the immigration judge, writs of habeas filed in federal court, humanitarian paroles, and credible fear interviews
